GTA 5 apps are everywhere on the iTunes and Google Play stores. At this point, it’s hard to figure out what apps are any good, even with the reviews–everyone seems to have a slightly different opinion. Plus, we all know how tough it can be to find anything on the official app stores, even if you’re a search whiz. For your convenience, here’s the lowdown on the best GTA 5 apps that deserve your time and consideration. As always, download at your own risk–these might be the best GTA 5 apps we’ve ever used, but your mileage may vary.
Best GTA 5 Apps for Maps
There are a lot of times when the official map just doesn’t cut the mustard. You might be looking for spaceship parts, toxic waste, or just a specific type of store. The main map can get messy–or worse, it can just not have any information you need. Use the GTA V Map & Cheats app for Android (above left) to beat those blues. It’s got tons of information and a pretty neat-looking map besides. For iOS users, there’s an interactive map for GTA V (above right), which looks nicer–it’s topographical–but is a little buggier.
Best GTA 5 App for General Info
If you’re just looking for a general guide to everything GTA, you can’t go wrong with the Wikia Guide. It’s available for both iOS and Android, and comes with every bit of information GTA 5 fans have ever been able to put together. Plus, you can cross-reference stuff from previous games.
Best GTA 5 Apps for News
We pride ourselves on getting you the latest GTA 5 news here, but sometimes other folks manage to beat us to the punch. When you’re thirsting for up-to-the-minute coverage, the team at NewsFusion has put together a great content aggregator app that will show you all of the day’s top headlines. You can download it for Android and iOS, whatever’s easier.
Best GTA 5 App for Beating the Market
GTA 5 Online players are notorious day-traders. There’s a lot of virtual money to be made in the stock market, but prices can be volatile–you might just lose your shirt. Prevent that from happening with the GTA 5 Insider Trading app for Android. (We haven’t been able to find anything as good for iOS, but if you’ve got a tip, leave us a link in the comments!)
Best GTA 5 Official App
There are a couple of different apps made for the game by Rockstar. Some are useful; some are crap. The iFruit app, while keeping the satirical voice we love from the games, is a mostly useless mess (unless you just want to play with Chop). But the official GTA 5 app manual for iOS and Android is free, informative, and well worth downloading, even if you think you’ve gotten all you need from the other apps on this list.
